We all know the inherently drab nature of dorm rooms. Well this year I was determined to brighten things up a bit so I painted one, that's right, just one, of my flower pots. But it's pretty so just...whatever.
Supplies!
- Craft Paint ( I used acrylic and so far so good)
- Plain Flower Pot
- Paint Brush
- Newspaper (for the protection of wherever you decide to craft)
Step #1
Spend 15 to 20 minutes removing the stickers and scrubbing the remaining sticker goop off of the pot.
Step #2
Clean the surface you plan to paint with a damp paper towel, this prevents random dirt from interrupting your painting experience. Believe me, I know because I forgot to do this step.
Step #3
Choose your colors. My dorm room is teal, gray, and a dark-ish, mustard yellow color. So I chose white and yellow.
Step #4 (optional)
Use one of your chosen colors as a base color. I used the white.
Step #5
Turn the pot upside down and squeeze drops of paint along the edge and allow them to run down the sides.
Use the paint brush to spread the paint along the edge. Nothing too crazy, just make the very edge look even.
Let it sit to dry
Choose a plant and enjoy!
There, now if that didn't just make you feel super duper crafty I don't know what will :)
